Factory Design Labs
Factory Deisgn Labs was tasked with building a customizer for the Oakley Web site. However, it would take Oakley a month to create the assets for one set of glasses through photography and Illustrator work. In addition to that, those assets would come with inherent alpha channel issues.
In one month, FMI created hyper real renders of frames, lenses and straps. This massive portfolio of assets (up to 300 combinations for a single frame) was integrated into the customizer application.
FMI also provided consultancy on how the customizer should handle the alpha channels to maximize the customizing experience.
Oakley has a customizer featuring a wide array of glasses and goggles that allows users to change every aspect of the product. Users also have the ability to view their customized eyewear from multiple angles and at large sizes.
